Hunter PVP stuff

Lazy Pig

Lazy Pig is a “quality of life” addon that has features I believe can enhance your PVP experience. It has a zoom-out feature that allows you to zoom the camera out a lot further then usual. This allows you to see what is going on around you much easier.
You will be able to see much further, giving you an advantage when searching for a ranged target. You will also be able to see a lot more of what is going on behind you. View the image below to see how far you can zoom out.

It also has small things that make doing battle grounds a lot easier. It has []. When all are active, simply clicking on a battle master will skip through all the annoying text, queue for the battleground and immediately join a battle ground when one becomes available.
Lazy Pig may also have other things you’ll find useful including auto dis-mount. When this is active clicking on a hostile target and casting a spell will automatically dis-mount you and start casting. For more information on Lazy Pig or to download it go to our addons page.

Hunter Timer

A hunter timer is essential when you are planning to PVP. It is an addon that will keep track of your auto-shot timer so you know when it is about to fire. This will allow you to time your attacks perfectly in between your auto-shots, maximising DPS.
This is also useful as you are able to run around between your auto-shots without interrupting the cooldown of the weapon (depending on speed). Using a hunter timer will allow you to know exactly when you should be moving and standing still. This is great for kiting and ranged battles. A hunter timer is always going to make you a mage killer.
We would suggest using YaHT (Yet another hunter timer). It works smoothly and has good customisation options. Visit our Vanilla Wow Hunter Addons page to find out more and download YaHT.

It is essential that you are using macros in PVP. One second of time can be the difference between life and death and macros can help you save those seconds by helping you use skills more quickly and efficiently. Here are a few macros we thought would be useful.

Mark, Pet Attack & Shoot

/script CastSpellByName(“Hunter’s Mark”);PetAttack();CastSpellByName(“Auto Shot”);

Scatter Shot
Casts Scatter Shot, has your pet wait by the target and sets it to passive.

/cast Scatter Shot
/script PetWait()
/script PetPassiveMode()

Feign Death / Freeze Trap
If you didn’t know, you can use Freeze Trap while in combat by casting Feign Death (to briefly leave combat) then casting Freeze Trap. Spam this macro to Feign Death, put your pet on passive (so it doesn’t break the trap) and drop a Freeze Trap. This macro will also just cast Freeze Trap if clicked once while out of combat.

/cast Freezing Trap
/script PetPassiveMode();
/cast Feign Death

The Big Melee Macro
This macro is to be spammed while in melee to cast Aspect of the Monkey (if it is not already active), start attacking, then cycle through your melee abilities if they available to use.

/script if (not string.find(UnitBuff(“player”, 1), “Mon”)) then CastSpellByName(“Aspect of the Monkey”);end
/script if (not PlayerFrame.inCombat) then CastSpellByName(“Attack”); end
/cast Raptor Strike
/cast Mongoose Bite
/cast Wing Clip

The Big Pet Macro
If your target is friendly it will assist that target. If your target is hostile it will attack that target. Using the macro again will recall your pet back to you.

/script if UnitExists(“target”) then if UnitIsFriend(“player”,”target”) then AssistUnit(“target”);PetAttack();else if UnitExists(“pettarget”) and UnitIsUnit(“target”, “pettarget”) then PetFollow();else PetAttack();end;end;else PetFollow();end;

Will only cast Concussiv shot if the target has not been Wing Clipped.

/script if (not isClipped(“target”)) then CastSpellByName(“Concussive Shot”); end
